“I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service. I acted and behold, service was joy.” Rabindranath Tagore
Seva (pronounced say-vah) is the Sanskrit word for “service”. As a student of yoga, a studio leader, and a member of a bigger community, I feel called to Seva as a way to better embody the mission of Plover Yoga. The studio exists to make yoga accessible to everybody and to create personal empowerment, peace, and play for students on and off the mat.
In the spirit of Seva, through the month of February, Plover Yoga is partnering with other local businesses and social services to give back to our greater community. All month, you can drop off donations of non-perishable food items which will be delivered to the Interfaith Food Bank. Interfaith Food Bank provides meals to up to 450 Portage County families EVERY MONTH.
On February 15th, Plover Yoga is partnering with Oswald Counseling Associates to teach participants how to better serve themselves so they can continue to show up for others. The Love Yourself workshop will provide practical, hands-on tools for self-care as well as be a day of being cared for. We will provide lunch, a manual, and a few gifts to everyone that registers for the workshop.
Finally, on February 22nd, Plover Yoga and Assembly Shop are co-hosting a clothing drive to benefit CAP Services. When you come to classes on Saturday, bring a food and clothing donation to be entered to win a month of free yoga from us as well as a $100 gift certificate to Assembly Shop.
We are so excited to Share the Love with Portage County!
Love & light,
Owner & Instructor
